Alegria will be open for dinner Wednesday through Saturday, 5PM to 9:30 PM.
 The restaurant features rustic Spanish and Puerto Rican cuisine.

Algeria Skyview Restaurant at Greenwood Lake Airport is the perfect viewing place to experience the exhilaration of watching take off as you enjoy a glass of wine, sample authentic Spanish Taps or indulge in a rustic Puerto Rican meal.  Wines from Villa Milagro Vineyards of Finnesville, NJ are available.   Alegria Skyview which will open on March 3rd, 2018, features Authentic Rustic Cuisine from both Spain and Puerto Rico along with a traditional Spanish Tapas menu that pair well with wines from Villa Milagro.


Maira Rodriquez is the chef and owner of this newly opened restaurant. She is assisted by her executive chef Ron Lafradez.


Maira’s culinary experience began at a early age on her grandparents’ farm in the coastal Puerto Rican town of Ceiba.  Working alongside her grandmother she learned the techniques of authentic rustic Puerto Rican cuisine with an emphasis on roast pork.  Maira has spent significant time living abroad in both Spain and Sicily where she learned and experienced the native cuisines of both countries.  Maira’s formal culinary education includes the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City where she had the opportunity to learn with Mario Sandoval owner of Coque Restaurant, Madrid Spain.  Mario is a Michelin Star winner and the winner of the Spanish Chefs Championship.  It is with Mario that Maira learned the Spanish techniques of traditional roast suckling pig.  Maira, who prior to launching Alegria, operated her own successful catering business is proud to bring her love of authentic rustic Spanish and Puerto Rican cuisine to the public at Alegria Skyview.


Ron, a graduate of the Institute of Culinary Education in New York was recently at TORRO of New York City.  TORO New York is owned and operated by James Beard award winners, Ken Oringer and Jamie Bissonette.  It was Ron’s experience at TORO which led him to fall in love with Spanish cuisine.  At TORO, Ron learned traditional Spanish cuisine along with fusing it with classic French techniques giving it a modern touch.  Ron also developed extensive experience in the preparation of many classic Spanish Tapas (Small dishes).  During his career at TORO, Ron experienced every technique of Spanish cooking and was eventually promoted to the prestigious position of Tournant before joining Maira at Alegria Skyview.
